Central Ohio Radio Kontrol Society
What We Are All About:
CORKS has been in central Ohio for more than 40 years, building and flying radio controlled models. We build large and small, simple and complicated, cheap and expensive, dull and colorful, beginner and expert. We build our own, buy them almost ready to fly, almost ready to cover, buy at swap shops, buy ones that nobody wants and ones we think we will need in the future. We are also seeing more electric powered airplanes at our field.
We hold many events throughout the year at our field. We have everything from Fun Fly's to a Big Bird Classic. All large events are held on weekends, while regular flying is any time we can get two or more people at the field at the same time. Our main objective is to have fun, but our main concern is Safety. All flying is held at our field just south of Centerburg on State Rt. 3, just West of Chapman airfield. To fly at our field you must have AMA insurance and have a CORKS membership card. Guests and spectators are welcome at the field any time we are flying.
We are always on the look out for new members who want to enjoy the fun and excitement of flying a radio-controlled model. We have people of all ages, from their early teens to their late seventy's We have many people who are willing to help and train new pilots. We have a club plane that has a buddy box to give you a chance to try out your skills. Even a first-time flyer can fly a RC airplane using this method.
Meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Sunbury Library. If you think you would like to join us in our sport or just want to know more about what RC is all about, what the cost is, what the best way is to start, what you will need, or anything about RC, please call one of the following people or come to a meeting:
